My grandmother loves flowers (as does my grandfather who grew, and continues to grow, one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen — a story for another time) and wanted to go to Watson's Greenhouse and Nursery for a little shopping and lunch. How could we refuse?
I visited Watson's a lot when I lived in Washington, but going back again with my family—a family that lives for gardening—was exciting. We looked through all the gorgeous blooms that weren't ready to grow in Wisconsin, and spent a wonderful afternoon ogling the gorgeous home decor. (I've decided to decorate my kitchen, whenever that is, in lemons and blues.) It was wonderful to have a leisurely lunch with my favorite people and catch up on the months and years since we'd all last been together.
