Travel Day No. 3

The last few days of our trip was spent talking with my grandparents and great uncle and learning more about my family's history. We had lunch at Harbor Lights, a great restaurant in Rushton Way right on the water, and then visited my (Great) Uncle Jim in Tacoma. One large event I learned about was my great-grandfather's time on the USS California after Pearl Harbor.

Travel Day No. 2

I visited Watson's a lot when I lived in Washington, but going back again with my family—a family that lives for gardening—was exciting. We looked through all the gorgeous blooms that weren't ready to grow in Wisconsin, and spent a wonderful afternoon ogling the gorgeous home decor. (I've decided to decorate my kitchen, whenever that is, in lemons and blues.) It was wonderful to have a leisurely lunch with my favorite people and catch up on the months and years since we'd all last been together.
