One of my best friends in the world is getting married later this month! She is one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out, and while thinking about her, I was reminiscing back on a photoshoot we did many, many years ago when I was just getting into photography. The early light was gorgeous (thank you, Shayla, for getting my butt up early enough for it!) and her and her many horses were a dream. Here are a few of my favorite shots from that day. The last few days of our trip was spent talking with my grandparents and great uncle and learning more about my family's history. We had lunch at Harbor Lights, a great restaurant in Rushton Way right on the water, and then visited my (Great) Uncle Jim in Tacoma. I visited Watson's a lot when I lived in Washington, but going back again with my family—a family that lives for gardening—was exciting. We looked through all the gorgeous blooms that weren't ready to grow in Wisconsin, and spent a wonderful afternoon ogling the gorgeous home decor. (I've decided to decorate my kitchen, whenever that is, in lemons and blues.)
